Welcome to November.
Traditionally thought of as the last “real” working month for many.
But not for this little black duck!
I shall be paddling furiously over the coming weeks to finalise outstanding projects that I can’t wait to bring you.
I know I promised you a little more information this time around…
I won’t spill the beans on everything, but here’s one tidbit for you. The Disobedient Directory will be hitting the deck very soon. It’s my own little black book of resources and tools I use in my business.
If you want to get it in your hot little hands for nothing…yup that’s Free…then all you need to do is sign up for the fortnightly Tipsheet over here on the right, or at the close of this post. As soon as its released…its yours, along with all future updates and revisions. Hows that for a saahweeet deal?
Online Biz – Review & Projection
On the review front. I’m fresh off the plane from Queensland, where I’ve spent the past few days at James Schramko’s Fast Web Formula, the mother of all Internet Marketing conferences.
I have to say its one of the best events I’ve attended in some time forever.
The speakers that James brought together absolutely know their shit inside out and upside down.
As a result I have about 50 pages of notes to work through to design my plan for world domination…bwhaahhaaahaa.
Seriously though, the strategy and information was rock solid. Concentrating on what I love… The foundations of business.
Anywhoo…I’ll not blather on and on, I will simply say if they hold another one next year (James, I know you’ll have your Ninja’s monitoring this…that would be yes please!!) then you should seriously get of your ass and get there. Nuff said.
CommentLuv Update
I have been using the premium version of CommentLuv since last month, and am still tweaking and testing settings. Don’t know whether I can say that there has been more traffic since moving from the free version, still a bit early to call.
It has cut back on a few plugins which is always a good thing, and I do like the subtle social enticements from my perspective…not sure how you feel about being asked to share? A discussion for another post perhaps?
If you want to get in on CommentLuv for your site/s, I believe its being pre-launched next week for around $60 some odd dollars for an unlimited site license. It may be worth you taking a look, as I know the price will rise after this release.
Google Plays The Privacy Card with SSL
Recent changes by Google to “hide” search referral data have met with some strong opinions…and understandably.
If you’ve heard whispers in the wind on this topic and use keyword research in your business, you will want to head over to SEOMoz recent emergency whiteboard where Rand Fishkin gives a really clear picture of what this all means.
Well that’s a wrap for this month. I’ll leave you with my 5 worth reading from last month. Be sure to check them out and show them some love.

Jackie, I can’t wait to read your “Disobedient Directory”. I just signed up even though I think I’ve signed up before. I don’t want to miss out on it.
Thanks so much for linking to my post about having a contingency plan for your business. I know I’ve written something of value when a fellow blogger (who I respect) links to it.

Jackie recently posted..What Do You Know About Copyright?
Hi Jackie,
Since the recession kicked in, I’ve noticed that many things have changed, such as budgets, buying patterns and client expectations.
So, it’s often hard to gauge what’s working (and not) when the goal posts keep moving.
Things that used to work, now don’t. Minor tweaks sometimes have a major impact. Tricky…

You’re right there have been some significant shifts in business of late.
With tightening of spending by consumers, they are much more savvy about what they want and definately what they expect.

I have been using comluv plug ins and just love it. Though there is much changes in the economy, still going on with the business. We still need to be more innovative.

Hey Jackie,
James Schramko is the real deal. Knows his stuff and tells it like it is. I’m not surprised that you have plenty of notes to work through!
CommentLuv Premium is working great for me. Definitely more comments on my blog – and more traffic as well (though not sure if that’s all due to ComLuv).
As for November being the last month of “real” work, I’ll be hammering away right up till Christmas. I’ll have a rest in January maybe.
